“The Advent Project” is an annual series released by the Spiritual Life Department at George Fox University for students to reflect on the birth of Jesus during the season of Advent. The commission for my role as Graphic Design intern consisted of designing a style for the season, a pdf document to present the readings, and a short video introduction for each week. The department staff and campus pastors contributed the content and criteria for what was created.

The visual style of the design draws on traditional elements of the Advent season, namely the color palette of purple and gold. The type and photography are meant to create a simple, attractive, but cozy appearance, reminiscent of a more refined Christmastime aesthetic. It was important to emphasis the usability of the document layout to ensure an easy experience as the content is navigated by many students and their families.
